Today four lovely @Sodexo Aldershot Christmas elves delivered all this lovely chocolate to Parkside. A special thank you to Sarah and Kelly for organising, you needed that trolley!! Thank you so much. Christmas wishes to everyone at Sodexo for such a kind donation

On Friday 29th we had an amazing volunteer day with Metro Bank who joined us in making Parkside look all festive for our Christmas Fair. The team creating Santa’s Grotto really out did themselves this year it was just amazing! The Christmas trees were once again dressed beautifully and the tombola set up, a big job all done. Our thanks to Brett, Simon and Graham for starting to put together the new summer house, we just ran out of time. A special shout out to Nicky at Metro for facilitating the event. We hope to see you all again next year.
The Fair raised an amazing £1760. Which included £210 the highest bid for the Chelsea signed shirt! Once again thank you Chelsea Football Club . We had a brilliant event well supported and our thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who gave up their time to support the event. The raffle supported by many local businesses was a resounding success and raised more money than last year. Please take a look at the thank you list below!

Our Christmas Fair is fast approaching. This Friday we have Metro Bank joining us to prepare the hall for Christmas Festivities. Come along and join us Saturday 30th November 1pm – 3pm. We have some amazing raffle prizes!

A huge thank you to Kath and Elaine our local PCSOs who took the time to come and talk to the group. They chatted about being safe and looking out for each other. Also forms of bullying and cyber bullying which some of the group knew about. They touched on being safe riding bikes and in general the importance of reflective clothing and safety headwear. The group had lots to say to them so a huge thank you to Kath and Elaine for answering. We hope to see you again soon!

We are very lucky to once again secured a signed Chelsea football shirt. Our thanks to @chelseafc.com Last year this was a great fundraiser for us. We had a lovely surprise at the 7 year Rushmoor Community Lottery celebration ! WE won our grant application of £915!! this will purchase important equipment for our sensory room and day care activities. Thank you to all our supporters too for your weekly support😊

Today we said farewell to Amy who leaves us for a new challenge, though she kindly stays with us on Bank so we shall see her again soon hopefully…… Good luck from all your friends at Parkside!

This weeks art class was scraper painting. The PIP group really enjoyed the different shapes and colours they could create using this creative style.

Tuesday PIP group wanted to mark St George’s day and no better way than a very English Fish and Chip lunch. After a morning of creating some great celebratory art work it was well deserved! Happy St George’s Day!

The Life Project Tuesday group had their first fantastic day at Legoland. The group enjoyed a day of exploring the theme park along with some thrilling rides. Everyone had a great day and the weather was mostly kind!

Our thanks to Aldershot football club and Chris Benson who won £100 for Parkside at Saturday’s charity crossbar challenge! Chris attends Parkside on a number of services so it was fantastic that he chose us for this fantastic event. Chris is an exceptional footballer so well done!

Last night’s AGM was beautifully supported by some of our Life Project members. The group shared their Makaton skills singing along to 2 of their favourite songs. Our thanks to all those that came along, your support is much appreciated.

What a brilliant Easter Bonnet Parade today and well done to everyone. It was difficult for our judges Suzanne and Chris but we did have 3 winners Nicola, Julia and Brandon. Easter greetings from us all at Parkside. PLUS a huge shout out to Sodexo for donating over 100 eggs enough for everyone!!

We welcomed Roz Chadd the Deputy Leader Hampshire County Council and Cllr David Clifford from Rushmoor Borough Council. Roz joined us to find out more about the work we are doing here at Parkside and see the facilities. The visit coincided with the disco session so she was able to meet Parkside service users and residents of many homes in the community attending this very loud drop in session!

Health & Wellbeing month has gone very well. Groups shopped for fruit and made fruit kebabs, they used the outdoor gym at King George VI’s playing fields and enjoyed yoga and meditation. Having the use of the new kitchen at Parkside has enabled them to make soups from scratch along with healthy lunches and fruit salads.
