The attached document is the eighth regular bi-monthly update on this project. They have created it in an easy-read format to meet the needs of service users.

Exciting news!! we have confirmation that we have been allocated a few charity spaces for the London Marathon Virtual run which will be held alongside the London event which this year is Sunday 3rd October. Runners that get a place on the virtual event still complete a full marathon, but they do it locally to where they live on a course set by themselves. Runners are all given an entry number and there will be technical support to record the run. However, runners have 23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds to complete!! If you would like to raise money for Parkside and would like to find out more email email@example.com You get a London Marathon T-shirt and winners Medal. It’s a brilliant way for smaller charities to get involved in this famous event!

Many of you will be aware of the annual tradition of the Rotarian Christmas Float that visits many of our local areas collecting for good causes. Here at Parkside we have enjoyed our annual Christmas collection route around the roads near us in Aldershot. Through the cold, wind, rain we have sang carols and watched the delighted faces of all the children meeting Santa. Sadly this year due to Covid19 they have had to take the difficult decision to cancel the float collections. It is unfortunate as this tradition has been going for over 50 years; however they hope that a Rotarian will take out the float and drive through the usual routes playing festive music and hopefully encouraging the public to donate to all the causes online.
Donations can be made to the Rotarian website or Facebook
www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/homepage.php?ClubID=859 or www.facebook.com/aldershotrotary
